The Router Security Check program will analyze you Cisco Router and determine if the SNMP Community String is vulnerable. It will attempt to determine the read-only as well as the read-write SNMP community strings. It is important to make sure your SNMP community strings secure.

To check the security of a Cisco router or Catalyst, just enter the IP address of the target router. You do not need to enter anything in the Community String field to launch to program. Security Check will attempt to determine the read-only community strings. You may also want to enter an SNMP read-only community string and see if the program can determine the read-write community strings.

Due to the security nature of this tool the Evaluation Version of SolarWinds does not contain a working version of the Router Security Check tool. It is only available in the Licensed Version of the Professional Plus and Engineering Editions. If you are not sure your routers are secure you need to run this application at least once.
