This course enables students to utilize the features and functionality of their Orion system to gain maximum advantage of monitoring and managing their network environment. Objectives

After completing this course the student should be able to:

  • Effectively plan and install an Orion System
  • Populate all network segments, nodes, and devices to be monitored by Orion
  • Establish appropriate thresholds and filters to best utilize the alarming features that will allow Orion to make the most efficient use of resources
  • Administer Orion System features and user access permissions – provide the right information to the right people
  • Build and customize network maps and reports
  • Additional SolarWinds toolset overview, demonstration, and integration with Orion
  • Introduction to SolarWinds’ new Cirrus Configuration Management Tool

Prerequisites

To fully benefit from this course, learners should have the following prerequisite skills and knowledge:

  • Basic router configuration
  • Basic switch configuration
  • Basic virtual local area network (VLAN) configuration
  • Basic Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) configuration
  • Basic trunking configuration
  • Standard access list configuration

  • Module Seven: Web Portal Administration (Lecture and Lab)

Day Three

  • Module Eight: Network Maps (Lecture and Lab)
  • Module Nine: Reporting (Lecture and Lab)
  • Module Ten: Alerts (Lecture and Lab)
  • Module Eleven: Toolset Integration with Orion (Lecture and Demonstration)
  • Module Twelve: Toolset Overview and Demonstration (Lecture and Demonstration)
  • Introduction to Cirrus and Corona Technical Services

  • All training courses must PAID IN FULL fourteen (14) business days prior to the training start date.
  • Classroom space is reserved only after receiving full payment.
  • Course Reservations are granted on an individual student basis. WRITTEN requests for student substitutions are accepted up until two (2) business days prior to the Class Start Date.
  • Course may be rescheduled 30 days prior to the training start date.
  • Purchased courses are valid for 120 days. After 120 days, the purchaser forfeits the course without refund.
  • There are no refunds.
